- CMBTs must recertify every 5 years by Continuing Professional Development (CPD) log + ethics attestation; failure to recertify reverts status to Associate

Practicing or former bomb technicians seeking the Guild’s core credential of Certified Master Bomb Technician (CMBT)
Senior masters recognized for exceptional service
Professionals and researchers who support bomb-disposal work
Individuals currently undergoing formal initial EOD or bomb disposal certification training
Exceptional non-practitioners who have advanced global EOD safety (inventors, researchers, policy-makers, philanthropists)
Minimum Requirements
- Nationally recognized operational bomb-technician qualification (military or civilian)
- 5 years verifiable full-time EOD or bomb-squad service, or 1,000 cumulative operational hours
- Bomb technicians with less than 5 years experience, but are verified members of operational bomb squads or EOD units, and are advancing toward qualifications for certification.
- Successful completion of, or intent to undergo the Guild’s written & practical CMBT examination
- Signed adherence to the Code of Ethics and background check
- Payment of dues and proof of 20 hours/year continuing-professional-development (CPD)
- Current CMBT in good standing
- 10 years professional EOD experience and record of distinguished contribution (leadership, research, doctrine, invention, etc.)
- Nomination by two Fellows
- Election by Guild Council
- At least 1 year employment, or active research in an EOD-related field, or enrolment in a recognized engineering, or security-studies program
- Sponsorship by one voting member
- Ethics affirmation and limited background check
- Payment of annual dues
- Proof of enrolment in an accredited bomb-technician course, or military EOD school
- Ethics affirmation
- Payment of nominal student dues
- Demonstrated international, long-term, positive impact on the bomb-disposal community
- Nomination packet + two letters of support
- Selection by Honors & Awards Committee and three-quarters (3/4) Guild-Council vote (maximum 2 per year)
- Acceptance of Code of Ethics
