Dr. Edwin A. Bundy

Dr. Bundy is a former government program manager who led advanced technology development efforts for U.S. and international bomb disposal communities. Since retiring in March 2025, he has taken on the role of Director of Training and Technology at the vonLoewenfeldt Group, a company specializing in critical infrastructure protection against explosive, UAS, and other improvised threats.

Dr. Bundy is a former U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, and during his tenure as a military EOD technician, Dr. Bundy distinguished himself in positions such as Team Leader for a U.S. Army Special Improvised Explosive Device (SIED) unit, responsible for access and disablement of improvised chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear devices. Dr. Bundy also served as an instructor at NAVSCOLEOD, and the Biological/Chemical Training Division’s Subject Matter Expert on chemical and biological agent response operations. 

Dr. Bundy holds doctorates in both Forensic Science and Education, and is a Certified International Post-Blast Investigator (CIPBI).

Michael Cardash

Chief Superintendent Michael Cardash, the former deputy head of the Israeli National Police Bomb Disposal Division, served 27 years as a senior bomb disposal officer, participating in numerous missions defeating IED’s while commanding and training bomb disposal units within the Israeli police and border guards.

Michael currently researches global IED incidents, tactics and trends and is a senior instructor at the EU CBRNe training center in Budapest and the Head senior C-IED analyst at Terrogence – Global, author of the Möbius C-IED reports analyzing and assessing global IED-related technical and tactical intelligence.

He is also a Senior Instructor at the EU CBRNe Training Center in Budapest, Hungary and serves as an advisor for the International Bomb Data Center Work Group (IBDCWG) and the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) where Michael holds certification as a Certified International Post-Blast Investigator (CIPBI).

Bob Epps

Bob is an accomplished law enforcement professional and bomb technician with extensive supervisory experience and a proven record of leadership in high-risk operational and research environments. Over the course of his career, he has overseeing complex missions in law enforcement, vice and narcotics, as well as courtroom testimony, IED mitigation, explosives handling and safety, explosives breaching, dignitary protection, military ordnance, and firearms training.

Bob has served the bomb disposal community as a Bomb Squad Commander for the Riverside County California Sheriff’s Department, an instructor for the FBI Basic Post Blast Course, and an International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) International Director. Bob is also a former US Marine, serving as an Ammunition Technician, Drill Instructor, and Weapons Instructor. 

An ATF-Certified Explosives Specialist (CES), Bob further advanced his technical expertise by completing the Explosive Technology graduate program at Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2019. He has been at the forefront of innovation in the explosives community, coordinating a multi-agency research team that developed a successful render-safe procedure for the propane bomb described in Inspire Magazine, Issue 12—a method now incorporated into commercial software used by bomb technicians worldwide.

Adam Modd

Adam brings over 35 years of global experience in threat reduction, bomb disposal, and risk management across both military and civilian domains. Currently serving as Senior Solutions Architect with EPE – Trusted to Protect, he leads efforts to deliver advanced expertise, capabilities, and training to detect, diagnose, mitigate, neutralize, and exploit threats in diverse operational environments.

His career has spanned leadership and advisory roles with the British Army, the New Zealand Defence Force—where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel—and as a trusted advisor to the U.S. Government. Adam commanded E Squadron (EOD), 1NZSAS Regiment, New Zealand’s national bomb disposal capability, where he directed national-level EOD/IEDD/CBRNE operations and ensured readiness for both domestic and international mission requirements.

Beyond his command responsibilities, Adam has deployed extensively on multinational operations in the UK, Germany, Northern Ireland, Central America, Bosnia, Kosovo, Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, Colombia, Nepal, New Zealand, Cambodia, and Southeast Asia. He has worked alongside the United Nations, OPCW, Interpol, FBI, and numerous allied militaries and law enforcement agencies, contributing to humanitarian operations, counter-terrorism, counter-proliferation, counter-WMD, and exploitation missions.

Adam’s distinguished service has been recognized at the highest levels. He was awarded the George Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2002 for gallantry during UK bomb disposal operations, and the Distinguished Service Decoration in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours for his contributions to bomb disposal in New Zealand. He has also been awarded the U.S. Army Commendation Medal and three FBI Commendations for his role in international exploitation missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

With deep expertise in humanitarian operations, EOD/IEDD, CBRNE risk management, and multinational security cooperation, Adam is dedicated to saving lives and restoring stability in the world’s most dangerous environments.

Robert vonLoewenfeldt

Robert “Rob” vonLoewenfeldt is a Co-Founder and the CEO of the vonLoewenfeldt Group, bringing more than three decades of operational experience, technical leadership, and instructional excellence to the forefront of explosive threat mitigation and public safety innovation. 

Rob began his distinguished career in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, but following military service, he transitioned into civilian law enforcement where he built a multifaceted career as a patrol officer, homicide detective, SWAT officer, public safety diver, explosive detection K-9 handler, and bomb technician.

With over 20 years in SWAT, 18 years as a bomb technician, and 23 years in police/public safety diving, Rob pioneered underwater improvised explosive device (IED) detection and response capabilities. He created the Hinesville Police Department’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, and led the development of waterborne IED response strategies for both the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. His pioneering efforts in this domain were instrumental in shaping national capabilities and informing the design of maritime bomb response equipment.
